Dr. David Brown is on the faculty of Maranatha Baptist Bible College, Watertown, Wisconsin, where he teaches in the music department and conducts the orchestra and the Madrigal choir. He earned a B.A. and an M.A. in trombone performance from Bob Jones University and a D.M.A. in Choral Conducting from the University of Missouri. He served 15 years as a church music director in Kansas City and is currently the orchestra director at Calvary Baptist Church, Watertown, Wisconsin.
Mr. Allen Probus is in his eighth season as cellist in the Kansas City Symphony. He earned his undergraduate degree from Bob Jones University. His master’s degree is from the Cleveland Institute of Music, where he studied with Stephen Gerber, principal cellist of the Cleveland orchestra. He has performed with the Cleveland Orchestra and has toured Europe and the Far East with the Detroit and Pittsburgh Symphonies. Past summer festival engagements have included the Eastern Music Festival, Grand Teton Music Festival, Spoleto USA, Blossom Music Festival, and the National Repertory Orchestra. Allen maintains a full private studio. In addition, he plays with the Kansas City Chamber Orchestra and is a founding member of CelloRondo, a Kansas City-based cello quartet.
Mr. Ben Culver earned a Music Education degree from the University of Michigan, where he studied violin with Stephen Shipps. He directs orchestras in middle schools in Saline, Michigan, teaches privately, and serves as Artistic Director for the Saline Fiddlers. His expertise is in demand as a composer, producer, sound engineer, clinician, and studio musician. He is a member of Ann Arbor Baptist Church in Ann Arbor, Michigan.
Miss Jessica Graf grew up at Marquette Manor Baptist Church and Academy. She graduated with a B.A. from Baptist College of Ministry and an M.A. from Bob Jones University, where she held principal chair in the BJU Chamber Strings. Jessica studied violin under Drostan and Dorothy Hall. She currently teaches violin, piano, beginner band, choir, and other academic classes at Heritage Baptist Academy in Antioch, CA.
Leanna York was under the influence of several teachers while a student at the Indiana University String Academy, director Mimi Zweig. At the college level she has been under the direct instruction of Miss Ji-woon Jung, Miss Elizabeth Pabón, and Mr. Lewis Rosove. Leanna has taught violin privately for six years in Indiana and Wisconsin and has directed two one-week string camps in Martinsville, IN. She is currently teaching in the Maranatha String Prep Program and is very active in developing a string program in Whitewater, WI.
Julie Mueller, affiliate teacher with The Harp School, Inc. in Chicago, holds performance certificates with distinction from the Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music (ABRSM) in London, England, and has earned the ABRSM Diplomas in both Harp Teaching and Harp Performance, as well as the Licentiate in Harp Teaching. Miss Mueller has taught harp for 6 years and piano for 11 years. She is trained in The Angel’s Harp, a method for teaching whole musicianship at the harp, written by Carol McClure. Miss Mueller enjoys teaching both classical repertoire and traditional hymns and maintains a private studio at Marquette Manor Baptist Academy as well as in her home.
