The Beginner Orchestra is for those who have a basic playing ability. Each camper is involved in the following:


Orchestra

The Beginner Orchestra is a string orchestra, which performs both sacred and classical music. It participates in the Wednesday service in a memorized all-camp piece as well as in the Friday evening concert. Seating placement within sections is determined by audition. Each camper plays a designated selection from the orchestra music during an assigned time on Sunday afternoon.

Rhythm

This class for Beginner campers builds and strengthens elementary counting and note value reading in an active and fun way.

Technique

We provide technique training to help campers develop correct string-playing habits. This training is important for building solid technique for the future.

Skill level

The Beginner Orchestra is designed for campers who range from the middle of Suzuki Book I through Suzuki Book 2.
