Intermediate Orchestra playing a Concert

Intermediate Orchestra

  • Conductor: Allen Probus
  • Schedule: 8am – 3:00pm
  • Cost: $145

intermediate-challengeThe Intermediate track offers the student an opportunity to grow in their orchestra experience. The pieces selected are arrangements of well known classical pieces. While the initial seating is determined through an audition sent in via video on pieces selected from their orchestra music received in June, students can voluntarily challenge each other during the week to improve their seat position. As an intermediate orchestra member, their level of playing should fall between Suzuki Book 3 and Book 4. The student can expect almost a full day of courses beginning at 8am and finishing up around 3pm.

The courses available provide a good balance between the physical (the actual playing of their instrument) and the mental (understanding rhythms, note values, and why it makes sense). With the understanding that the LORD formed man of dust from the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life, thereby man became a living soul, a chapel time comprised of hymn singing and preaching from the Scriptures is built into the schedule to minister to their spiritual nature and needs.
